Investigating the socio-economic variables and land use patterns in the production of urban travel; Case study: Rasht city

Abstract

The layout of land uses and the distribution of activities in the city are factors influencing urban transportation patterns. For this purpose, information related to traffic behavior and socio-economic characteristics of 540 residents of four residential areas of Shiraz was collected. The purpose of this study is to explain the advantages of using the combined model of WASPAS decision in the study of socio-economic variables and land use patterns in the production of intercity travel, Rasht city. Weight production technique is a very accurate technique and its decision matrix is ​​based on objective data and is used to decide on very sensitive issues. The research method is descriptive-analytical. Studies related to urban planning and intra-city transportation were used to identify the indicators of the target areas of travel production. Based on this, 11 criteria 40 have been identified and a basis for collecting information related to travel production areas in Rasht city. In order to obtain the score of each criterion that has several sub-criteria, the central index method was used and the score of each criterion was calculated according to its sub-criteria. Then, using the model of evaluation of cumulative weight production, priority was given to the areas of Rasht city. The results of this study show that regions two, one and three are more capable of producing travel, respectively. And areas four and five are less likely to produce less travel. In such a way that the output of the model corresponds well to the existing realities.
