The balanced development leisure spaces in cities is one of the most important concerns of urban planners to enhance tourism capacity, increase vitality and quality of life among citizens. What is pursued in this research is the analysis of the spatial distribution of recreational and leisure places in Shiraz. The data collection method in this research is based on two documentary and field methods, and in order to examine the spatial distribution of recreational activities, the nearest neighbor method, kernel density analysis and standard deviation ellipse were used. After reviewing the research background, a total of 36 types of recreational and leisure activities were identified in the city of Shiraz, and after providing a questionnaire to citizens, seven recreational and leisure places, including restaurants, coffee shops, cinemas, shopping centers, swimming pools, parks and sports clubs, were identified as popular places for recreational and leisure activities of citizens in the city of Shiraz. The results of this study show that the spatial distribution pattern of recreational and leisure activities in Shiraz is centralized and has a large recreational and leisure area in the city center. Over time, this structure has changed to a decentralized structure and several smaller recreational and leisure areas have been created in the western and north-western parts of the city. In general, the development of these places has been more towards the northwest of the city, and the concentration of such places in the southern and south-eastern parts of the city is less observed.
